JOSEPH DE LA HOYDE
BIO/PRESSER
Joseph is an Australian musician, composer, record producer and visual artist.
With a background as a classical guitarist, Joseph has written/arranged scores for Australian Television documentaries ‘Life Challenge: Kokoda’ & ‘Road To Peace’, Cannes featured short ‘Old Beginnings’, brands Coca Cola, Toyota and Finish and contributes to production libraries EMIPM in AU/UK - most recently on albums ‘Future Glow’ AUS and ‘Emotional Pop’ UK. His remix of the ‘Mission Impossible Fallout’ theme was released by Paramount Pictures 2018 following the release of the widely successful film.
As a producer/writer and part of trio D.E.L, Joseph has worked with artists spanning Australia’s Samantha Jade, Jasmine Rae and Andrew Lambrou, alongside releasing music of his own. His work has amassed millions of streams with adds to curated playlists and radio including Nova, 2Day, KIIS, BBC1 and SiriusXM. He has attended camps hosted by Sony Music Publishing & Sony AUS, MFG, Kennel SWE and SongExpo, working with songwriters based throughout Australia, Sweden, the USA, South Korea and Hong Kong where he lived in the early stages of his life.
Joseph’s work on Nick de la Hoyde's 'A Beautiful Mess' won ‘Best Pop Album’ at the International Music Awards in 2020. He has performed at Rolling Loud Miami with Nick, alongside Music Matters and headline/support dates throughout Australia and America with Australian rock outfit Monks of Mellonwah. As lead guitarist, composer and producer for the Monks, Joseph released several EPs and an album, winning best Independent Artist at the LA Music Awards 2012 as well as touring throughout AU and the USA supporting artists Sevendust and Scott Stapp (Creed). Through the Monks, Joseph worked closely with Grammy winning legend producer Keith Olsen (Fleetwood Mac, Rick Springfield) whom Joseph attributes as an early mentor and inspiration in his work.
As a visual artist, Joseph explores the juxtaposition of life and death through photography, writing and collaged curiosity work. His work has been published in international art journals, selected as finalist in Sydney based art prize the Hornsby Art Prize, and amassed a loyal social media following. At his debut exhibition in early 2020, Joseph’s work sold out and was praised for it’s haunting and melancholic appeal.
Joseph is currently continuing work writing and producing as a part of production/songwriting trio D.E.L for a variety of major label and independent artists, alongside working on new artist projects of his own, Violet Like and Scrapbrain. Alongside writing for various production music companies, he curates his own set of production music albums designed for filmmakers.
